Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.7 QMR Fix List
(available at http://www.notes.net):

Migration - Exchange
SPR# BCOR4JQNU3 - Invoking the Exchange DUS from an upgrade notification
message fails to create the archive database due to an invalid file name. This
problem has been fixed in 5.0.7.

The Upgrade Wizard should create a new Notes mail archive database in the
user's \notes\data\mail directory. By default, the file will be named
a_jsmith.nsf if the user's name is John Smith (the "a_" stands for "archive").
The problem occurs when the Upgrade Wizard attempts to create the database's
filename based on the hierarchical name of the Domino Server. The hierarchical
name has an equals sign "=" in it, which is not a valid character for filenames
in Windows.

The problem is specific to Notes 5.0.3 and only occurs when launching the
Upgrade Wizard through the upgrade notification button in the email. Earlier
versions of Notes do not exhibit this problem.

As a workaround, have the users type "NUPGRADE.EXE 3" from a DOS prompt in
their \Notes directory or whichever directory has the Upgrade Wizard installed
in it. Running the Upgrade Wizard through this method will bypass the error
and will correctly create the mail archive.Supporting Information:

The Notes Administrator composes the upgrade notification message by clicking
the "Send upgrade notifications" action button in the Mail Users view of the
Domino Directory. This can be accessed in the Domino Administrator by clicking
on the Mail Users view under the Messaging \ Mail tabs.
